I had an auntie (now passed on) who lived near Portland for many years, and my sweet younger cousin still lives there (hi, Elizabeth!)
I heard President Trump talk about the awful things happening in Portland, that things were burning up and that the stores all had to close! I called Elizabeth to find out. I love that town and it was very scary for me to hear that!!! I haven't been there for year's but I want to go there next summer (when its warm!!!)
She said that it isnt true at all! She said she has gone downtown a bunch of times and there are a few protesters here and about but no violence, no burning, all is just fine.
Why would President Trump say the other stuff? I don't know!!!
Elizabeth also said that there have been people in frog costumes out with the ICE people. What the heck! She sent me some pictures. My word, these silly frogs all out on the street with those scary ICE men.
I am not sure what to think anymore. I do not like that Trump did not tell the truth about what is going on there. Elizabeth even facetimed me once to show me that everything is "normal" in Portland.

It really bother's me that President Trump made some stuff up about it. It's just not funny.

One thing I have gotten better about is searching out news from other places than I used to. Guess it is having to work and live with people who are different from me. Used to be Drip was just all of us that grew up here. Now its a whole place overgrown with houses and gas stations and such and all the people coming from everywhere to live here. Anyway, it has made me have to face up to things especially lately. Can you believe it? I am going to go to an even called "No Kings" on Saturday right here in Drip. I want to see for myself what it is all about and if it is hate like they say or if its like my friends at school say- a place to speak up for America. My sticking place is still Epstein. Why won't the President let us see the files if he isn't in them??!?!!?!?!
ReplyDeleteIMO our President isn't technically lying because I think that Stephen Miller is feeding him pictures from South America. Miller is shadow president fr Mr. Trump had a stroke back a few weeks and they are just pushing him around like a puppet and pretending he's ok.
ReplyDeleteDid y'all see the photos and videos of ICE shooting a priest in the head while the priest was praying? There is another photo of a regular lady they had pushed face down to the ground and even her pants got pulled down? That may have been Chicago because I think she was working for the local tv station. I voted for violent criminals to get sent away, not this.
