Dear friends,

My friend Donna sent me this photo:

It hit me.
I have always tried to live this Proverb!!! It has been one of my favorites since I was a child. I knew it from Mama's old Bible: "He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor. " When this showed up in my email it took me back. I just loved saying the old Proverbs with their taketh and doth and such and I memorized them even so!!! When I am able to donate to the food bank and such and think of this Proverb and feel like I am honoring God.

And then I heard about President Trump saying that little girls should make do with two dolls for Christmas this year. Then I saw the news today and he is getting this fancy jet from Quatar.

This proverb was still on my mind and I thought this isnt right!!!

Some things just haven't been sitting right with me, friends. I want to support our President, but latley it has been harder to defend him. Our farmers are hurting so!!! And I heard about some little children being sent away to Haiti or somewhere like that -- children who were born in the US and one has cancer! She had to go without her medicine and it just about broke my heart.

I am glad he made the deal with china and now maybe things will be ok but I still worry a lot about the poor.

Please be kind to each other.

I just read this back and it is alot of jumbled thoughts so I hope you get what Iam trying to say.

Be blessed, friends. Stay faith full!

Love,
Helena

  1. Helena, your merciful heart shines through your words. I love you! One trouble that no one is saying is that China already made other arrangements for pork, soy beans and our other ag products. Those aren't coming back fast enough for the farmers and ranchers. We can't even sell our products for school lunches or for aid overseas anymore. It is a pure shame. I hate to see anyone lose their land. Also, have you SEEN that plane?! It is gawd-awful with gold plating everywhere. I hope you are tracking the spending bill in Congress. I think it will hurt people even more. I read Josh Hawly write about how it will hurt Missourians. When he is against it, I think we better pay attention!
